Our Story.

Dave Taschuk initially started the company in 2001 until 2014, then reopened again in 2019 after working as the Operations Manager for McGregor Thompson in Nanaimo. When McGregor Thompson decided to close their install division in early 2019, Dave realized there was an opportunity to reopen Scan Tech Door Services in Nanaimo. Dave started out as a Locksmith in 1997, and gradually starting moving more towards door and hardware installations, eventually becoming a qualified Door and Hardware Technician (DHT). With extensive experience and knowledge in the door industry it was an easy decision to reopen Scan Tech Door Services. Since reopening, the company has hired two employees and provides work to various sub-contractors. Our installation and service work extends across Vancouver Island and beyond and we are an authorized dealer for a wide range of door and hardware products that are sold across BC. Our customers include construction companies, institutions, organizations, municipal governments and businesses.
